There are things we can always remember, and there are things that we always forget. As I found out today, physics happens to be one of those easily forgotten things. The physics exam was a rough one, followed by calc II in a close second. Ah well. On the other hand, I am happy that another year here at MTU is comming to an end. My classes went fairly good this year, and hopefully Ill get a bit ahead by taking some courses this summer. I made some more friends, and even got an apartment to live in during the summer and through next year. Im probably gonna spend my summer free time filling out scholarship aplications so that I can afford to keep going to college for another 2 or 3 years and graduate with a masters in Mechanical Engineering. My summer is looking pretty good too. Im supposed to spend a week in Florida with my Uncle Phil who happens to be one of my favorites. After I get down there we are supposed to get on a yacht for a 2 or so day excursion with a group of other ships, so that should be awesome, considering the most time ive ever spent out at sea was about 6 hours for a fishing trip. BTW, I also turned 21 May 2nd, so now I can get legally drunk and buy a handgun! WOOHOO. I don't know which I'll do first, but I'll be sure to update my journal with my decision after it happens, or once I can remember it.

Ever since I got the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo I havn't been able to stop playing it. I just realized today after getting 92 kills in a row without a death in onslaught that maybe I've been playing a too much (I even bought a microphone so I could chat). My skills are great, and I have tactics, but I think im slowly selling my soul to the computer.
Oh well, guess I shouldn't worry too much. Ive also been playing Warcraft III some, but its just not as action packed as Unreal. I also got into the Lineage II beta test, but since they only have 3 servers for the entire US and foreign testers, you can almost never get on. It's weird, cause even when I do play I notice a lot missing. I know it's only beta, but character customization is just about nill. Besides your name, there is almost no way to tell anyone apart. The spells are alright as well, but consider dark elf casters (the strongest nukers) only get a total of about 10 spells through the life of their character, the rest are just upgrades for current spells.
Anywho... the more MMORPG's I check out, the more I realize how much EQ actually had right. Sure it got slow later on, but you could really be unique. So many races and classes, trade skills, armor dyes, guilds, easy movement for noobs, well rendered environments, huge spell variety, mounts, raids, GOOD group xp bonuses (many games only give you 5%-10% bonus for 5 ppl, and that just doesn't work. EQ gave 80%),and even instanced dungeons. The only major thing EQ doesn't have is large scale PVP, but thats not my kind of thing.
So thats about it... I may try to head over to Anthrocon 2004 this summer, but I doubt I'll make it. I just dont have the cash to drive there, stay in the hotel, pay for entrence, AND buy stuff I would want. If I did go it would jus put me abou $400 in the hole, which I can't afford to do right now with my college expenses. Sun, Mar. 14th, 2004, 06:13 pm Fun at MTU
Yet another day has come and gone. The regular homework and video gaming ensued after waking up, only to fill the void of social interaction that has become my life. After falling off the ladder in my room yesturday ive been pretty sore, but Im plotting revenge even as I type *sharpens axe*. On another note, Ive noticed that zoomtard still hasnt posted my game review? But maybe it just wasnt very good anyhow. I also have a leaked beta version of DOOM III if anyone wants me to make a review of that, but im still trying to get it to run correctly. Thats my update for now. Feel free to reply or just stare at it like some twisted informal mess of letters that convey meaning only to those who know the language.
Tue, Feb. 24th, 2004, 02:33 pm Trojan Attacks.
So I recently installed Nortan Firewall and Nortan Antivirus on my computer for some added protection, but also because I need it for when I move to my new apartment. So anyways, when I got back today from engineering some guy was trying to install 4 or so trojans on my computer according to NF, and it listed that he had made over 1840 some attempts within the last 30 minutes.
OK, so heres the funny part. Nortan firewall gives you the ability to track the IP of the attacker back to the host, so thats what I did, and I found it was an MTU student. I used resnet to get his address and telephone number and gave him a call. LOL, he sure as hell wasnt expecting that. I kinda just told him that I knew it was him, and that he should stop before I tell MTU telecommunications. Anywho, that was my big deal for the day. Good stuff. Today went well except for a Calc II test. I finally managed to narrow down the problems on my PC to just my RAM, then used a freeware program to scan each module. It turns out that the problem wasnt the new ram I had just bought, instead it was one that I had in there for quite a while that I thought was still good. Im happy now....
I also downloaded Priston Tale, a 3D online MMORPG that I beta tested a couple years back. Turns out my characters are still there and I have full access to my account for free! I posted the link for the site in one of my previous entries so scroll through em to find it. Hopefully Chad will be joining me on the server soon so I can power level his NOOBness :). Thats a note to the rest of you (Josh, Rob, Ryan) get in gear so we can play SOMETHING together, even if its not D&D.
Well, my paws are tired. Gonna do physics and go to bed.. CYA! Sat, Feb. 7th, 2004, 11:39 am PC Armageddon
"Wow, I've never seen Twinkies out in the wild before." ---Bone Gnawer Keegan My pc is working... for now. After a 2 week bout with random hardware failures, windows errors, and suddent resets I have just about given up on trying to fix this computer. Ive tried everything, including reistalling XP, but to no avail. There is only one thing it could be, and thats a hardware problem. LUCKILY I've narrowed it down to RAM, Hard Drive, Video Card, Processor, or maybe my Motherboard. So it looks like im screwed unless by some miracle it all starts working right. Besides that I missed my broomball game yesturday at 10:30, not like it matters. I went to see matrix Revolutions at around 8:30, so I figured It shouldn't be a problem since its only a 1hr 30min movie. I guessed wrong. But I dont think my team cared given that we have lost every game except 1 this season.

Just posting again to test some new settings.
WOOT! So its about time I updated my journal, and since im not doing much and I have the rest of the week off for winter carnival I figured I might as well get to it. Things have been pretty normal, some Calc II stuff, some Physics stuff, lots of video games... Other than the miniature blue fox thats out to get me (THERE HE IS AGAIN!!), its all good. BTW Star Wars KOTOR is an awesome game. If you dont have it, get it, cause your missing out on some good old RPG Fun. I also signed up for the WoW beta.. Hope I get in... really want to. ALSO... Found a great comic online called Shivae! Check it out at: http://www.shivae.net/shivae/d/20010920.htmlIf you like it there are links on the page that lead to other strips made by the same studio, all quality stuff IMO. P.S. Don't Buy SWE Shish-Kabobs, not that good and cost $2. Wed, Dec. 17th, 2003, 10:04 am
I have not yet begun to procrastinate. Sat, Dec. 13th, 2003, 07:02 pm
Wow.. Not much to do around here except update my journal. Got on soulseek, downloaded some stuff, played Warcraft III a bit. THOUGHT about playing FFXI, but knew it would take too long. Ah well, Ill find entertainment value in something im sure.
I still have to do laundry too... Fri, Dec. 12th, 2003, 04:42 pm Today sucked.
I woke up to yet another day at college. Even though I had 3 tests all in one day, I figured it might not be so bad. Things went fine during my first practical and exam, but I got hammered by a damn engineering quiz. Needless to say that has completely ruined my day, as well as just about making me give up on doing decent on my finals. DAMN IT. Why do I have to bust my ass for 4 more years, just to get a completely monotonous job that I'll absolutely hate, then Ill retire to no social security or any type of support. And people claim life is "good", HA. Life is terrible, there are only good moments..
